Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from community members to join a Community Representative Group (CRG) to support the refresh of the Lockyer – Our Valley, Our Vision Community Plan.
The CRG is a time‑limited, advisory group established to help Council:
- review and sense‑check the existing Community Plan;
- consider evidence from the recently completed Liveability Study and other community engagement activities completed by Council; and
- provide community oversight before a draft Plan is released for wider public review.
The CRG will work together to represent the views and values of the broader community to ensure the final Community Plan is meaningful and accurate.
Council is seeking individuals who:
- live in and have a strong connection to the region;
- are interested in the long‑term future of the community (10–20 years);
- are willing to consider different perspectives, even where they do not personally agree;
- are comfortable working within clear scope, timeframes and evidence; and
- can participate constructively in facilitated group discussions.
Members participate as individuals on behalf of the wider community, but not as representatives of organisations, groups, issues or campaigns.
This process is not suitable for people who:
- wish to advocate for a single issue, project or campaign;
- are seeking to use the CRG as a complaints, lobbying or future election forum;
- are unable to work within agreed scope and facilitator guidance; or
- are unwilling to engage respectfully with differing viewpoints.
Current Councillors are not eligible to apply.
The CRG will meet for up to six facilitated sessions, each approximately two hours.
Sessions will be held over a 12‑week period commencing 14 September and ending 26 November 2026.
Members are expected to attend all sessions and review material provided between meetings.
Council will select CRG members to achieve a balanced mix of demographics, locations and perspectives across the community.
Selection is not first‑come, first‑served.
Not all applicants will be appointed.
All CRG members will be required to:
- comply with a CRG Terms of Reference;
- declare any conflicts of interest; and
- accept that Council may remove members who undermine the integrity of the process.
Applicants will be asked about:
- their interest in the Community Plan;
- their availability and commitment;
- their approach to considering different viewpoints; and
- their willingness to participate as an individual rather than an advocate for a specific issue.
To apply:
